Thursday, December 17th 2009 ODEON brings the IMAX experience to Wales The first and only IMAX screen in Wales is now open at the ODEON, offering cinema-goers a truly immersive film experience - screening films in both IMAX and IMAX 3D formats. Hide/Show the rest of this article While IMAX theatres have existed for several years, the £500,000 ODEON auditorium is one of the first in Europe to feature revolutionary digital projection technology which delivers crystal clear images and laser-aligned digital sound to envelop the audience. South Wales Echo reporter Emma McFarnon comments: "Words cannot do this cinema experience justice. Forget escapism - this is like travelling to another planet and back. The clarity of the images are astounding and the sound so sharp I felt as though the characters were sat right next to me. Pictures literally leapt off the screen and took on a life of their own - it was as if I played a part in the story. Even if you're not an avid film lover, this will still blow you away. It's almost wrong to use the word "film" - this is an "experience." |
